There was mighty talk and debate over Gilmore Girls’ fourth season. Some conception it was stout and that it was one of their best seasons. Others plan that it had a lot of obedient stuff, but had problems and was, quite easily, it’s weakest season. I can’t say that it’s a dreadful season, because it’s not. The second half contains some truly gigantic episodes, but season four was a disjointed disappointment. The explain went through a transition this year, and shows that go through a definite ‘growing up’ phase do have some problems. They usually don’t go through it unscathed. Season four of GG is no exception. Rory leaves home and Stars Hollow and goes off to live in her dorm at Yale. This leaves a unique, and awkward, dynamic between mother and daughter and the display. The relationship between the two was a major factor of the series, and the fact that they spoke to one another on cell phones more than anything else it seemed was also a component that didn’t add to the season. They added in the character of Jason ‘Digger’ Stiles, and most people didn’t really like him or warm up to him. This was not actor Chris Eigelman’s fault, as he was suitable. The only actor who could match Lauren Graham’s quickly remark and hastily wit. Lorelei also had fresh developments in her life. She and Sookie were getting serious about opening their enjoy inn, and in the meantime, recall on careers as caterers. It seemed that the writers had a hard time settling into their modern plot ups and situations, and it left the expose disjointed, misguided, and impartial not the same expose. This was mostly during the first half of the season, although there were some highlights. “Chicken Or Beef” was a classic GG episode dealing with Rory running into ex Dean, who invites her to his upcoming wedding. “The Festival Of Living Art” was another vital episode, with the town becoming living pieces of art in the town square. But there were more misfires and duds than expansive eps. “An Affair To Remember” had Rory spending the entire episode looking for a location to glance. This was a jam with Rory. There was this large unusual change in her world, and the writers didn’t seem to exploit it grand. Rory was lost for a helpful piece of the season, and it seemed they couldn’t figure anything favorable to do with her. Thankfully, once the second half kicks in, the present regains it’s footing and the writers seemed to have finally gotten a enjoy of what the point to wa doing this season. The second half really kicked into gear, and it’s what saved the season. This is why I gave it four stars. Jess returns, and not for the ample, in “A Family Matter”, and the season had one of it’s best episodes with “A Clang In The Clamor”, a classic GG episode with a improbable Luke/Lorelei moment in the stale church. “Tick..Tick..Tick..Content” and “Afterboom” was a stout two parter. A good season highlight. Lorelei and Sookie’s current inn, The Dragonfly, is coming into shape towards the raze of the season, and it appears to be a colossal unique area. “Luke Can Examine Her Face” is a gargantuan episode. It’s a pivotal ep in the L/L movement, when Luke finally realizes that Lorelei is the one. The season finale, “Raincoats And Recipes”, is the type of stuff season finales are made off. Pitch perfect. An episode that changes everything in the Gilmores’ world, and promises mammoth stuff to approach. And approach it did in the show’s attractive fifth season. Season four was not poor. It had problems and flaws, and is easily it’s ‘least’ season, but it overcame them in the second half. Ther performances were collected up to snuff, and Lauren Graham continues to be one of the top best actresses on TV. She has “Emmy” written all over her, and continues to be denied that honor. Yes, involving out and animated away can be awkward and things are objective different. Maybe that was the writers’ point, but it was definite that it’s hard, different, and awkward to write as well. Season 4 started off with a whimper, but it certain ended with a major bang.

Although reviewers were hastily to criticize season four, no one will hiss that the last few episodes of the season were some of the best the explain has ever brought forth.

Season four brings Lorelei and Rory to a unusual area in their relationship. Rory moves out of the house and into the dorms, and Lorelei struggles with the realities of bringing her life-long dream of owning an inn to fruition. Through phone conversations and Friday night dinners the girls struggle to support their relationship as finish as it once was. Dean reappears as a married man, Luke is as humorous and endearing as ever, and the elder Gilmores struggle to adjust to changes in their marriage. Digger and the lawyer explain comical distractions to the dependable fancy tale, which finally reaches its beginning in a satisfying scene outside the Dragonfly. And lets not forget about the final scene, which left everyone in shock – because when Rory messes up – she messes up substantial.

This collection is a must have for any Gilmore Girls enthusiast. Don’t listen to the naysayers. There are a lot of gems to be found throughout season four.

I first saw this movie a year ago at Otakon 2000, an anime convention, and it had me and everyone else in the audience rolling on the floors with laughter. Bio-Zombie is situation around two slackers, Crazy Bee and Woody Invincible who work in a cd shop at a local mall. One night the two are running an errand for their boss when they hit a pedestrian, not being too shining they cover the body in the trunk of their car and head abet to the shop. Unfortunatly the man doesn’t quit wearisome and soon is spreading his mysterious Zombie infection through the mall. Now Bee and Woody, along with a handfull of survivors are forced to fight their blueprint through the maze-like, zombie infested cooridors to freedom. Combining all the classic elements from cheesy dismay flicks and some found exclusivly in video games, Bio-Zombie comes out as a speedy paced flow of of gorry thrills, and witty humor. If you’re a fan of movies like Army of Darkness than this is a movie that shouldn’t be missed especially in subtittles.

This film served as a broad reminder of why I fancy watching movies. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a film that I knew, before it was even over, that I would want to contemplate it again and again.

It follows 2 young shopkeepers in a Hong Kong mall who can’t seem to finish out of peril. When they hit a pedestrian who, unbeknownst to them, is going to turn into a zombie, they cover him in their trunk. Returning to the mall, the zombie escapes and traps many of the shop keepers inside. Stunning soon our heros are leading the speed mission since they have experience killing zombies – from video games of course!

This film has stupendous lighting, a mammoth account line, and some of the best written characters I’ve seen in a long time. You will actually care for them and be in suspense when a zombie pops up hoping noone gets bitten.

Some of the camera work is sub-par but there are lots of inventive shots. This zombie film does not have loads of gore like some others, but it does hold great amounts of intentional comedy that will develop you beg for a sequal.

The dispute acting (for english dubbing) is stupendous I might add. Their dialog flows nicely with the actors expressions and moods, and even seem fitting voices for the actors.

This film will be a cherished allotment of my collection and is a fair asset to the comedy-horror genre!

The Immense O is truly a special anime. It is both deep and action-packed, thought-provoking and absorbing. The Spacious O is certainly an anime any fan of giant robots should choose up, and its big characters may way fans who might not necessarily like mecha anime.

Big O is much in that it is one of the very few series to gain a sequel because the American audience demanded it. The series was originally going to be a measly 13 episodes, but the fans complained because of the mammoth cliffhanger at the demolish of the last episode. Cartoon Network heard their plea, and produced another 13 episodes of the series.

In my idea, the second season is not quite as estimable as the first. The storytelling and art are not done in the same fashion as in season one. Whereas the first season ancient drab colors to train the sense of hopelessness and despair in Paradigm City, season two abandons this in favor of more sparkling and vivid colors. However, this is by no means poor, as the recent animation and coloring looks exceptional. It objective doesn’t assure the grunginess of Paradigm as well as the first season did. The storyline is presented in more of a coherent legend with each episode directly tying into the next. This was my major predicament with the second season. I loved how the first season gave you bits and pieces of the overall legend through each individual case Roger Smith completed (or failed to complete) . It gave the series a vast amount of depth.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Big O II – Aggressive Negotiations! Click Here

The episodes themselves are wonderful, however, and the last four are among the best of the entire series. Some moments are absolutely breathtaking, such as when Roger faces off against a rebuilt Huge Duo while racing against the clock to assign Dorothy, or when Roger finally reveals the just power of Sizable O in the final episode. The episodes flawlessly mix station development with tall battles.

One of the greatest things about Gargantuan O that makes it a timeless anime classic is the storytelling. Stout O tells an yarn mystery epic, and it does it with style. The gargantuan thing about this series is that it is one you can really discuss and have different theories on what exactly happened. The series has this habit of blowing everything you previously idea honest out of the water in a matter of minutes. And, like the ending to season one, the ending to season two simply presents more questions rather than answering everything.

As always, Astronomical O has fabulous music, especially in these last episodes. The valorous battle themes and brooding, driving choruses truly space the stage for the narrative finale. Overall, it’s a treat to listen to.

Big O is an anime I can recommend to any fan. It has all the things that gain anime great: deep characters, a astronomical dwelling, unbelievable action sequences, and valid music. If you inspect Gargantuan O with an commence mind and ponder the many things that happen, I’m positive you won’t be disappointed.

Love it when Roger Smith calls Gigantic O. My accepted anime! I have the complete collection plus some of the individual DVDs before purchasing the box collection. An anime for the family. No harsh language, blood or guts, or gross situations.

The finest biographical rock documentary, it is negligent to not include this with ‘The T.A.M.I. Show’, ‘Monterey Pop’, ‘Woodstock’, ‘Gimme Shelter’ and the other documentaries that have achieved legendary site. But I contemplate there is one more thing that needs to approach onto DVD to really understand what The Who meant to their fans.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Kids Are Alright! Click Here

Much more so than other acts, writers discussing The Who will screech that their opinions are not influenced by radio airplay – as a result they will claim that everything recorded before ‘Tommy’ was perfect while everything after was garbage (this film even has something to offer that crowd as there are four (!) versions of “My Generation”) .

Growing up as a fan, however, my friends and I would settle what to recall and listen to according to our bear instincts about what was intelligent and energetic rather than the delusions of the writers at Rolling Stone. This meant of course that among one of rock’s mightiest repertoires one album would always be the greatest (’Who’s Next’) and one song would always be the greatest – “Won’t Win Fooled Again”. The modern version forms a performance so stirring and majestic that it cannot be left off any Dependable list of the greatest rock songs of all time.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Kids Are Alright! Click Here

But as the song’s reputation grew throughout the 1970’s the live performance of WGFA transformed into something far,far beyond a routine rendition. The grandest of grande finales, it became the single greatest moment of anticipation, drama and ecstasy in all of 20th Century music – I personally can’t assume of anything comparable other than the endings of the greatest Verdi operas. If you were lucky enough to be with 20,000, 40,000 or 60,000 people when every last one of them raised their hands and yelled YEEEEEEAAAHHHHHH!!!! with Roger at the waste of the last synthesizer atomize, then you knew you had gone through a spine-tingling, goose-bumping audience thrill you could experience nowhere else.

All Who fans should be grateful to Jeff Stein for acknowledging the pride of residence of WGFA in the Who canon by selecting it as the concluding number. The version here is radiant, unto itself justifying a five star rating. But because it was filmed on a soundstage, there is only the faintest glimmer of the audience dynamics that would encourage the viewer understand what that song, and indeed what the band, meant to its audience. I’m level-headed hoping that someday there will be a DVD of comparable quality of one of the mammoth scale shows (the Shea Stadium concert comes to mind) so everyone can understand completely why The Who inspired more devotion than any act in rock music history.

By all appearances this seems to be the same version as the 2003 Pioneer edition. The box is exactly the same with a different barcode sticker slapped on it. It even has the 2003 copyright date and Pioneer logo. Is there any incompatibility in the video order between the 2003 box and this one?

Either arrangement, this aloof is one of the best rock documentaries ever made.

Well I had missed the first printing of the Saint Seiya collection sets and I have to say it is nice to have a reissue to be able to gather a series quick and easily instead of having to view all around for it or going through imports. As for the series itself it is an awesomely astonishing section of ’80’s anime. The series is presented uncut so all the blood and fighting is kept intact. The series tells the story of warriors or “Saints” chosen to contest for the golden armor. (The spot changes as the tale goes on) Each saint is given an armor pertaining to a constellation. Along with individual armor each saint battles with a situation of signature moves pertaining to their constellation. A enormous residence for anyone who likes ’80’s or ’90’s anime and I hope there is more to reach.

Watching these dvds brings succor the favorable frail days when I was a kid watching Saint Seiya in the morning. The action is wonderful and violent, which I adore.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Saint Seiya: Collection 1! Click Here

However, I do agree that the fact that only the first 60 episodes are being released does bewitch away from the excitement of buying the collections. Unfortunately, I have bought both these collections and I impartial found the entire series including the entire hades and death of hades sagas for the same ticket. Its in spanish but I don’t mind, because I actually select anime in spanish, the deny acting in spanish is plan better than english. I have a friend that will remove the two collections I have so it’s a get derive for me.

So, I you want the entire series, don’t bewitch this collection. Try to get and import, if you don’t mind reading subtitles or if you content spanish or japanese. If you don’t care about getting the entire series then go ahead and seize this collection, you will devour watching an memoir anime.

the anime itself is excellent. Big O will always be one of my favorites but my one complaint with this is the packaging when i bought it i assumed with the name The Big O: Anime Legends Complete Collection that it would well be…the complete collection all the episodes just not the first season. If it had been named The Big O: Anime Legends Complete Collection vol 1 then i could have assumed there would be a second vol but with out that i just assumed that it would be the entire series and ended up buying vol 2 a week later after sadly realizing i was wrong

Imagine a crumbling domed Gotham City where everyone has amnesia, and Batman fights evildoers using a giant black mecha.

That’s a fairly basic description of “The Big O,” a strange and action-packed anime with an art deco style, a noir atmosphere and lots of giant robots and strange conspiracies. This is no simplistic action show — there’s a deep central mystery that each episode revolves around, and some deeper meditations on the nature of memory.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Big O: Anime Legends Complete Collection! Click Here

Negotiator Roger Smith is hired to get the kidnapped daughter of a client back… only to discover that “Dorothy” is an android, who asks him to protect her. When he starts investigating, Roger learns of her “sister” — vast mecha “Dorothy 1″ — who can only be stopped by his own mecha, the Megadeus called “Big O.” But when Dorothy vanishes during the attack, Roger must find her before a gang of thieves do.

With the help of Dorothy and his faithful butler Norman (and occasionally hardened cop Dastun), Roger uses Big O to deal with a series of increasingly bizarre mysteries. Among his problems: a giant electric eel, a skeletal mecha controlled by the psycho ex-reporter “Schwarzwald,” a billionaire’s missing son, a piano-playing android, a “sea titan” in a flooded city, a mysterious cat with horrifying origins, a Heaven’s Day attack, and a mysterious woman haunting Dastun’s dreams.

Things take a darker turn in the last few episodes, especially since Paradigm City’s strange past becomes the most important part. Roger is hired to give a severance check to Schwarzwald, but becomes enmeshed in his plans for Paradigm City — and witnesses the unveiling of another Megadeus, Big Duo.

And when a series of murders are committed by a red-cloaked figure — who leaves Big O’s motto “Cast In The Name of God, Ye Not Guilty” at each crime — Roger starts to suspect that Dorothy may be involved. And even more confusing, Roger is suffering flashbacks of whatever happened forty years ago… which may be even more ghastly than anyone suspects.

“The Big O” is one of those series that drips with lots of influences — it hasa lovely classic noir feeling, more than a hint of “Batman,” and some tinges of Isaac Asimov (R. Dorothy?). And even the animation has a style reminiscent of art deco, with lots of long clean lines and dark shapes — even the vast Megadeuses and other mecha have them.

But the real beauty of “The Big O” is in the storytelling: the individual plots are reminiscent of a noir detective’s adventures, but with a weird sci-fi twist — a mad journalist in a haunted subway, a mad geneticist, and giant robots that fly and swim. It’s also graced with some explosive slam-bang action, intriguing hi-tech gadgets, and lots of wry humour (Dorothy sets off an elevator’s weight alarm) and dialogue (”Did you say ‘mama’? As in your mother?”).

And running under each episode is the haunting question of what happened to Paradigm forty years ago. The plots drop hints about floating memories and something terrible that turned Paradigm City into a series of half-ruined boroughs. This is especially true in the final episode, which briefly shows the horrifying past.

Dashing playboy Roger Smith is a pretty likable hero — charismatic, charming, a bit lacking in chivalry at times, but ultimately quite heroic and kind. Dorothy’s emotionless attitude makes a nice counterpoint, but she shows some signs of becoming more human (”Even I feel like playing the blues sometimes”). And for the true noir feel, there’s a mysterious femme fatale named Angel who keeps getting Roger into trouble, and the likably efficient butler/cook/technician Norman.

While it appears to be just another mecha anime on the surface, “The Big O” is actually a clever sci-fi/noir series with underlying conspiracies and haunting mysteries.

This film is a feast for the senses–and the spirit. The story is a fictionalized version of the apprenticeship of a famous viol player, Marais, in the 1600’s. His teacher, the legendary Sainte Colombe is a man who makes a spiritual discipline of playing music to the exclusion of nearly all else. Sainte Colombe’s talent is supposed to be so great that he can imitate any human sound. Yet he does not care about fame and fortune. He shuns the frivolity of the French court of Louis XIV and even refuses to go to court when commanded by the King who wishes to hear him play.

Buy,Download, Or Stream All the Mornings of the World! Click Here

Sainte Colombe fires his young disciple Marais despite his considerable talent. Colombe states in essence that Marais’ astounding techinical expertise aside that there is no music in what he plays. Marais goes on to become court musician but still yearns to learn from the master.

This incredible story was filmed with precision and artistry. Each scene looks looks like a renaissance painting. The story is sad and haunting–clearly many of the characters are clinically depressed. Yet somehow this film conveys an unearthly beauty and dedication to art that is inspiring.

Buy,Download, Or Stream All the Mornings of the World! Click Here

In addition the music is a wonderful discovery. Having never heard these composers it is a joy to be exposed to these plaintive complex melodies.

This haunting story is based on the historical relationship between Marain Marais and this teacher St Columbo, two of the most renown gambists of all time (the gamba is a stringed, fretted instrument, popular in the 1700’s, which looks something like a cello).

St. Columbo (his first name is unknown) is an extremely dark and complex person, “all passion and rage yet mute as a fish”. When his beautiful young wife dies unexpectedly he retreats from the world, devoting his life to his instrument and his art. Although recognized as the finest gambist in France, he becomes a recluse, defying even the king’s order to play at the royal court.

What is the meaning of music? Is it to impress one’s rivals? To entertain? For gold? No, says the master, none of these. And one who makes music is not necessarily a musician. The young Marais, who has become his student, struggles to fathom its meaning. . Great attention is paid to details and authenticity. The viewer is given glimpses of the lavish court of France in the 1700’s, the decadence of the privileged, and immersed in a sound track of Marais’ exquisite French baroque music performed by virtuoso players.

There is a love interest between Marais and Columbo’s eldest daughter (also an accomplished gambist), which, although almost incidental to the plot, allows the film to be billed as a passionate love story. Other than a few graphic moments, however, All the Mornings of the World is a story of the love of music, rather than carnal love

All the Mornings is a must-see for people with artistic inclinations. Those who love baroque music (1600-1750) will definitely want to order this film. And if you should happen to play the viola da gamba you have no choice but to purchase it (sheet music for much of the sound track is available in a collection from the Boulder Early Music Shop, if you feel adventuresome).

For the esoteric viewer, All the Mornings rates five stars.

This is one of the most current and luscious Westerns ever made. What sets it apart is the relative lack of action, the procedure that director William Wyler shifts most of the interest onto the relationship and interpersonal interplay between Cole Hardin (Gary Cooper, in one of his finest Western roles) and Think Roy Bean (Walter Brennan) . The draw the two recede from instant enemies, to unexpected friends, to uneasy opponents, to reluctant enemies, and finally assist to sympathetic friends is masterfully portrayed. As lovely as Cooper is, distinguished of the credit lies with Brennan, who became the first person to regain three acting Oscars by picking up his third Best Supporting Actor Oscar. Unlike his other Oscar wins, this role was essentially a lead role. Although many actors have portrayed Think Roy Bean over the years, Brennan’s is the definitive one, despite being the least historically suitable. If his version isn’t the most faithful, it is the most compelling. He manages to be utterly absurd, dangerously unpredictable, and utterly likable at the same time.

The record essentially falls into two halves. The first involves Gary Cooper’s accidental identification in Believe Bean’s saloon as a horse thief, his trial and conviction, and clever manipulation of the Believe to net a reprieve. The second half concerns Cooper’s taking sides in a range war, siding with a lone female farmer against cattlemen. Both halves are brought together nicely in Cooper and Brennan’s final struggle that ends the film.

Along with Walter Brennan and Gary Cooper, the actual star of this film is Gregg Toland, whose cinematography rivets the viewer’s attention on the shroud from beginning to destroy. Toland, who died tragically young in 1948 at the age of 44, is universally regarded as one of the very greatest cinematographers of all time, and THE WESTERNER was one of his finest efforts in a very, very stout scurry of films over a relatively short period of time. In the period running from 1939-41, Toland was responsible for filming such fantastic classics as WUTHERING HEIGHTS, THE GRAPES OF WRATH, THE WESTERNER, and CITIZEN KANE. Has any cinematographer ever had a two-year period matching this one? I saw THE WESTERNER years before I knew who Gregg Toland was, but I long retained the memory of several of the astonishing shots Toland framed. He was a current of director William Wyler, who would spend him often during Toland’s tragically short career.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Westerner! Click Here

Toland’s photography manages to give this film an story feel and scope, while the tensions in the relationship between Cooper and Brennan effect it a highly intimate film. This is easily one of the most new Westerns in the history of Holly, and one of the best.

The Westerner is simply one of the best westerns ever made. It starts of course with Gregg Toland’s unbelievable cinematography. “The Westerner” has all of the classic elements of the genre, the lonesome drifter (Cooper), the half-evil mediate (Brennan as Contemplate Roy Bean), the “searching-for-a-real-man” woman, the gang of thug rustlers (played by a gang of various thugs), the wimpy farmers (played by a bunch of wimpy farmers), the raunchy bar-room singer (played by a lock of golden hair), and the climatic shoot-out (Cooper versus Brennan) . The scenes that lift the movie are those in which Cooper pleasurable agress to gently crack Assume Roy Beans stiff neck with a swiftly twist. You can hear the pops and also feel the relief as you leer.
